Small Conference Committee

The Small Conference Committee is composed of five members; four of the members are appointed by the ASMS President, with the approval of the ASMS Board and serve two-year staggered terms, commencing July 1 of the year selected and concluding June 30 of the second year. The ASMS Treasurer serves as the fifth member and chair of the committee.

The Small Conference Committee is responsible for reviewing submitted proposals for future Asilomar and Winter Conferences, providing feedback and suggesting refinements as needed. Final topic selections for small conferences are determined by the Board.

Term: 2 years commencing July 1 of the year selected, and concluding June 30 of 2nd year

Duties

  1. Review and suggest refinements to small conference proposals;
  2. Meet at the annual conference and prepare a ranked topic list for each future small conference; 
  3. Review the student travel applications and select recipients; 
  4. Track calendar deadlines provided in the Small conference guidelines.
