About ASMS

Oral History Project

Oral histories of scientists important to the history of mass spectrometry are being assembled by ASMS in cooperation with the Science History Institute. Most of the interviews for oral histories to-date were conducted by past ASMS Archivist Michael Grayson. The Science History Institute transcribes and emendates the histories and maintains a bound final version.

Jean Futrell, 1934 - 2024

Jean served President of ASMS 1976-1978 and continued to attend the annual meeting through this year (at age 90!). Jean was also featured in the June 2024 Faces of Mass Spectrometry in JASMS.
