Alan G. Marshall, 1944-2025
A giant in the field of mass spectrometry and a pillar of the ASMS community, Alan served as ASMS President from 2004 to 2006. He received the 1999 Distinguished Contribution in Mass Spectrometry Award as co-inventor of Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry (FT-ICR MS), and was named to the inaugural class of ASMS Fellows in 2025. He also served as Member-at-Large for Publications from 1992 to 1994. Alan will be remembered as a thoughtful colleague, a trusted friend, and a dedicated mentor to countless members of the ASMS community.
