Health and Safety

Participants acknowledge that COVID-19 is an infectious virus that spreads easily through person-to-person contact and may cause serious illness to individuals who are unvaccinated and/or have certain medical risk factors. Federal and state public health authorities and ASMS have issued basic health and safety guidelines aimed at mitigating the spread of the virus. Participants understand attending ASMS Sanibel Conference 2023 may increase the risk of contracting COVID-19. ASMS in no way warrants that the protective measures prescribed for ASMS Sanibel Conference will completely prevent exposure to the COVID-19 virus. Participants agree to follow all public health and safety guidelines to attend ASMS and freely and voluntarily assume the risk of COVID-19 exposure and infection.

ASMS Health & Safety Policies at the Sanibel Conference

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, local conditions and safety guidelines are constantly evolving. We are closely monitoring the current state, federal and local COVID-19 guidelines for in-person gatherings and travel restrictions since a lot can change between now and January 2023. The policies below are subject to change.

Proof of Negative Covid Test for All Participants and Vaccination Strongly Recommended

All participants (including guests that wish to enter the conference space) must show proof of negative Covid test within 24 hours of arrival in order to pick-up their name badge at the Sanibel Conference. Remember to bring proof of your negative test result with you to the conference.

Negative Covid test result. Negative test result must be dated within 24 hours of arrival at the conference. Rapid antigen / Lateral flow or PCR test results are acceptable. If using a home test, please take a photo of the negative test result and include dated material (for example, a receipt from a local store purchase). We encourage all attendees to bring home tests with them to insure a test can be performed in the 24 hours prior to name badge pick-up.

Covid Vaccination is strongly recommended for all attendees. While the State of Florida does not allow enforcement of a vaccination requirement, full vaccination and boosters available are strongly recommended.

Masks Required at all Sanibel Conference Events

ASMS will require masks at the conference regardless of local ordinances. Masks must completely cover your mouth and nose and fit snugly without gaps. Disposable masks will be available onsite.
