In-Person Program at ASMS 2027 (New)

Volunteer mentors needed!

New this year, ASMS is bringing career mentoring to the Annual Conference, June 6–10, 2027, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, TX. We’re looking for volunteers from industry, government and academia, at every career stage, to share their experience with students and postdocs.

What mentors do

  • Sit at a table in the poster and exhibit hall during a scheduled time slot, with a sign showing your name, job title and sector.
  • Students and postdocs stop by for conversations of up to 30 minutes about your career path and theirs.
  • No preparation needed. Just bring your experience.

Time commitment

Each mentoring slot is 90 minutes: 10:30 am–12:00 pm or 1:00–2:30 pm, Monday through Thursday (June 7–10). Choose as many slots as you like when you sign up. All times are Central Time.

Presenting at ASMS 2027? If your poster or talk ends up conflicting with a slot you’ve chosen, you can change your schedule after abstract notifications go out in early March. We’ll email all mentors then to confirm their final slots.

Volunteer as a mentor, Application deadline is Dec. 21, 2026
