Demographic Data in Your Profile

You will find a demographic data section within your ASMS.org user profile. In conjunction with the ASMS Membership, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee we continue to update the options available annually. These updates reflect suggestions from the ASMS community and also acknowledge that some answers may change over time, specifically in the job sector/career stage category.

Members and users are prompted to update their demographic data each year beginning on November 2 to correspond with the annual membership drive.

How to Update Demographic Data in Your ASMS.org Profile (anytime!)

Simply login to this website and select 'My Account' once signed in.
Your Summary page will open in a new browser tab.
Select the 'Edit Profile' button to edit contact information, demographic data, and include your Twitter handle!
Be sure to SAVE when your edits are complete.

Statement on Usage of Your Demographic Data

As a society we hope to serve a diverse group of researchers and scholars from different backgrounds. Collection of demographic information will help us better understand how well we reflect the general population and how we compare to other scientific and academic societies and organizations. This information will remain confidential, it will not be shared with other institutions or agencies, and will not be used for individual identification.

The third annual 'Face of ASMS' poster / sign was created by the ASMS Membership, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee and presented at the 71st ASMS conference in Houston (using 2022 data)
