Awards

The Awards Committee is selected by the ASMS President and is known only to ASMS staff. The committee deliberates as needed to come to a decision. The committee is coordinated by the Secretary of ASMS who does not vote. 

Term: 2 years, July 1 of year one to June 30 of year two.

Duties

1. Select recipients for the Distinguished Contribution Award and for the Biemann Medal; 
2. Review all nominations.
3. Participate in one or two conference calls in January to select the recipients. 
4. Complete selection process for reporting to the ASMS Board at their February Board meeting.

Duties

1. Select recipients of five Postdoctoral Career Development Awards and ten undergraduate Conference travel awards.
2. Review applications and rate each on a score sheet provided by ASMS.
3. Scores are tabulated by the ASMS Member at Large for Publications.

Hites Award for outstanding research publication in JASMS Committee is selected by the ASMS President from the JASMS Editorial Board.

Duties

1. Select recipient of Hites Award from papers published; during the most recent two years.
2. Review nominations and rate each on a score sheet provided by ASMS.
3. Scores are tabulated by the ASMS Member at Large for Publications.

1. Select recipients of ten Graduate Student Travelt Awards.
2. Review applications and rate each on a score sheet provided by ASMS.
