What are the role of computers in mass spectrometry?








      Because of the large amounts of information that can be
generated and the large number of parameters to be changed in a short period
of time, computers are essential for mass spectrometer control and for spectrum
acquisition, storage and presentation. Computer-based data systems also typically
include software for quantitation, spectral interpretation, and compound identification
