What vaccines are acceptable for 'proof of vaccination'?

Any WHO approved vacciination is acceptable. Must be 2 weeks from last shot of your initial vaccination (for example, if you have a two-step vaccine, then 2 weeks from the final shot is acceptable.) See additional question at bottom of FAQs re: booster shots.

For the Covid test negative result I need to upload within 72 hours of my arrival. What type of Covid test is acceptable?

Starting at 72 hours prior to your arrival at conference (specified by you in your ASMS 2021 Safe Meetings profile) you will receive notice to upload your proof of a negative covid-19 test. For example, if you will be in the convention center on Sat, Oct 30 for a short course or early check-in, your test result must be dated** Oct 27 or later.)

Acceptable tests include:

  • Antigen or PCR
  • Home tests are acceptable, simply follow manufacturer guidelines for testing and take photo with your phone of your negative test result + copy of your ID as your 'proof of negative test result' + **dated newspaper or similar.

We strongly suggest attendees obtain their Covid test BEFORE travelling to Philadelphia unless you plan to bring home tests with you. There are some testing locations near the convention center, but to avoid disappointment we suggest you test before you travel. Download list of testing facilities near convention center.

I will need a test for my return-home travel. What can I do?

We anticipate some attendees will need test result for return-home travel. IF you need a test performed for your return travel you will have the opportunity to reserve and pay for a test via your ASMS 2021 Safe Meetings portal. When you complete your profile you will see the option to "reserve a test for your departure travel'. Check this box and the type of test you require. You will provide payment at time of reservation and select date that you need to be tested for your return home. Options for purchase of return-home test will include rapid antigen for $39 with results documentation or point of care/rapid PCR for $119 with results documentation.) Deadline to order return-home test is Tues Oct 26 via your ASMS 2021 Safe Meetings profile.

Reservations must be placed by October 26.

You may prefer to have your needed return-home test performed at another location. Download list of testing facilities near convention center.

I did not receive email for my ASMS 2021 Safe Meetings Profile. What should I do?

First, confirm you are registered for the ASMS 2021 Annual Conference. Then, be sure to answer the questionnaire in your ASMS.org profile regarding your in-person or remote participation.

Email sent Monday Oct 18 (4:30-5:30 pm), included all conference registrants with questionnaire answered as 'Yes, In-person', through 11 am Eastern, Oct 18. If you registered AFTER 11am on Oct 18, you will receive your email on Thursday, Oct 21. Same is true for any registrant that changes their questionnaire answer from remote to in-person.

If you still need assistance, send us a message at info@asms.org.

What about Booster shots for Covid Vaccine?

ASMS is requiring primary vaccine only. Depending upon your country of residence you may receive a booster shot prior to the ASMS conference. This is fine. We are not considering booster shot status when evaluating proof of vaccination with any WHO-approved Covid-19 vaccine.
